The foodstuffs labels give to consumers the needed information to select the food they will buy. On the other hand, they help to protect consumer’s health and food safety by presenting the ‘use by’ date, information on allergens, storage conditions, etc. They minimize health risks originated because of food consumption.
For this purpose, the information that is required to be included in the labels of foods is determined. How this information will take place is subject to law. With these regulations, it is intended that the necessary information on the label is given to consumers correctly without misleading them.
