Food additives are very often mentioned in the agenda, in terms of food safety. There is a lot of informational pollution about them. It is one of the areas where food producers have difficulty understanding the legislative provisions. With this vision, there is a need for both consumers and producers to reach the right information about the food additives.
Food additives are substances added to foodstuffs for a technological purpose. In a sense it is necessary to use them to get the product we want. They are added to the food in one of the stages of production, processing, preparation, packaging, transport or storage and it is expected that the product or its subsidiary product will be a component of that food, directly or indirectly. In other words, it is desirable that the food additives are present in the final product .
